EXPERTISE AND INTERESTS

Claudia works at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL); and as a Consultant Old Age Psychiatrist within the East London NHS Foundation Trust memory services.
She co-leads the NIHR Dementia and Neurodegenerative diseases Policy Research Unit (Queen Mary)  and Alzheimer’s Society Integrated Care Doctoral Training programme.
Claudia previously led the Alzheimer’s Society Centre of Excellence for Independence at Home, where her research focuses on developing interventions to support people living with dementia at home; and the NIHR/ESRC APPLE-Tree programme (Active Prevention in People at Risk of Dementia: Lifestyle, Behaviour Change/Technology to Reduce Cognitive Decline), investigating how lifestyle and behavioural changes can help prevent dementia in older adults.
She supervises PhD students on topics related to ageing and dementia, with funding from the ESRC, Alzheimer’s Society, Dementia UK, NIHR and Barts charity. Claudia is also a member of the UK Cabinet Office Trial Advice Panel, advising on national government programme evaluations, and a NIHR Senior Investigator
